About us
Gumnuts has been an essential part of the Goomalling community providing quality local childcare for almost 20 years. It is a positive, friendly and affectionate place of inclusion and warmth.
We are a small not-for-profit centre and operate thanks to the dedication of parent volunteers and support from the Shire and wider community.

Our experienced educators support children’s social, emotional and cognitive development by nurturing reciprocal relationships, engaging in meaningful interactions, modeling and promoting positive behaviours.

Our routine consists of free play, child-centred experiences, snack and meal times, sleep/rest times and mat sessions.
What we do
Daily, planned learning experiences by an Early Childhood Teacher, based around a theme generated by the children’s interests or community and seasonal events.
Creative activities such as craft, building, painting, collage and other mixed media opportunities.
Physical and Outdoor play and activities such as sand play, water play, obstacle courses, climbing, ball games, swings, bikes and scooters.
Music sessions with dancing, singing and musical instruments.
Hands on, free play experiences such as play dough, construction, puzzles and dramatic play.
Literacy, Numeracy and Cognitive development imbedded into the daily program such as structured and spontaneous story time, free access to books, counting and number matching games and exposure to the alphabet and sounds through colouring sheets and other hands on experiences.Regular incursions and excursions, and invitations for the community to the centre to showcase their talents and expertise.
